Sunday 17th February

Sunday 17th February

What a great weekend we've had!
Father in Law has worked his magic in the front cabin, or north wing as we like to call it, and we slept on the boat for the first time since having all the work done.

The old wood in the front was rather tired but I had no idea as to how it should be replaced but once again he came up trumps and it now looks complete and refreshed.

LED reading lamps have been fitted to reduce battery consumption and all that is left are the curtains, but with the front screen cover in place it was cosy and extremely dark.

I also managed to test out the exterior step lights, I hadn't seen them on in the dark but I'm very pleased with the results and should be a success on the canal bank.

I also made time to fit a consumer unit to the electrics to conform with the new rules regarding the boat safety scheme.  I was going to install one anyway for obvious reasons, but I have booked the safety for next weekend so we will see if any remedial work needs to be done after that.  I'm confident that all should go well.

I also made time to fashion a 'Turks head' to the steering wheel to mark the dead ahead position.
With no help from anyone.
Ever.
All on my own.
Without outside intervention.
From anyone.
